Our next event: Enhancing Practice with Digital and Social Media

Toolkit in a DayThe next MELSIG event will take place on 21st June at Sheffield Hallam University. The day will have a practical focus looking at three approaches to enhancing academic practice with digital and social media. We will explore three ideas together side-by-side, whether we are new to using digital and social media for teaching and learning or more experienced. Our challenge will be to construct three toolkits in a day that will inspire and guide our respective academic communities.

The provisional themes for the toolkits are:

  • Digital Storytelling
  • Flipped, Active & Blended Learning (FAB) with digital and social media
  • Podcasting for Pedagogic Purposes

Between us, we know a lot and we know of colleagues who exemplify leading edge practice in each area. If we are new to these topics, we are full of good questions, ideas and curiosity. Using a ‘toolkit in a day’ methodology, we will bring all this together into a set of open resources building on the Audio Feedback Toolkit and the Twalk Toolkit we produced last year.

News about how to register for this free event will be posted in the next week or so. In the meantime, make a note of the date, check you can attend, and look out for the call which will appear here and on twitter using #MELSIG and @MELSIGUK
