The day will have a practical focus looking at three approaches to enhancing academic practice with digital and social media. We will explore three ideas together side-by-side, whether we are new to using digital and social media for teaching and learning or more experienced. Our challenge will be to construct three toolkits in a day that will inspire and guide our respective academic communities.<\/p>\n<p>The provisional themes for the toolkits are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Digital Storytelling<\/li>\n<li>Flipped, Active &amp; Blended Learning (FAB) with digital and social media<\/li>\n<li>Podcasting for Pedagogic Purposes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Between us, we know a lot and we\u00a0know of colleagues who exemplify leading edge practice in each area. If we are new to these topics, we are full of good questions, ideas and curiosity. Using a &#8216;toolkit in a day&#8217; methodology, we will bring all this together into a set of open resources building\u00a0on the <a href=\"https:\/\/melsig.shu.ac.uk\/melsig\/2018\/01\/09\/audio-feedback-toolkit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Audio Feedback Toolkit<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/melsig.shu.ac.uk\/melsig\/resources\/twalk-toolkit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twalk Toolkit<\/a> we produced last year.<\/p>\n<p>News about how to register for this free event will be posted in the next week or so.
